Students Volunteering at Nansen Refugee Award
Some of our students from the Geneva School of Diplomacy (GSD) participated in a meaningful volunteering opportunity at the 2023
UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award. Their involvement allowed them to engage firsthand with the commendable work of exceptional individuals and groups dedicated to advancing refugee protection globally. Jade Wirth, one of the volunteers, expressed her profound satisfaction with the experience, describing it as highly rewarding. She highlighted the privilege of witnessing the official recognition and celebration of those who have made significant contributions to refugee protection efforts. Jade emphasized the inspiration drawn from seeing such impactful work being acknowledged and rewarded. By assisting the
UNHCR team alongside fellow volunteers, she contributed to ensuring the smooth execution of this significant event. Their participation not only provided practical support but also reaffirmed their commitment to humanitarian causes. GSD commends the dedication of its students to such noble endeavours and recognizes the invaluable impact of their involvement in fostering compassion and advocacy for refugee rights.
