Speech by GSD President at Georgetown University

Speech by Dr. Murphy at Georgetown University Geneva School of Diplomacy  President Dr. Colum de Sales Murphy was invited to deliver a speech at the School of Foreign Service — Georgetown University. He spoke to a fully packed auditorium on “The pivotal challenges ahead for the future leadership of the United Nations”.  The introductory and concluding remarks for the event were given by Mr. Frederick Tipson, Former Special Advisor — United States Institute of Peace, and Mr. Robert Skinner, Director- United Nations Information Center, Washington. Furthermore, the impressive audience consisted of career diplomats, academicians, US state department officials and students. The topic  which is of great relevance at this point in time when the UN Secretary General elections are being held, along with Dr. Murphy’s witty way of presenting facts, kindled deep interest among the participants. President Murphy had a successful meeting with the Senior Adviser to the Dean of Georgetown university as well as discussing in detail with the Associate Dean future collaboration between Georegetown University and GSD.
