GSD is very pleased to announce the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Geneva School of Diplomacy and the International Civil Defence Organisation.
On 13 April 2017, on the GSD campus, Dr. Vladimir Kuvshinov, Secretary-General of the ICDO, and Dr. Colum Murphy and Ms Shahenaz Barragan, President and Vice President respectively, signed for GSD.
The purpose of the agreement is both academic and scientific cooperation. The agreement will establish combined training courses, student internships, delegation visits and the holding of certain ICDO events at GSD.
In welcoming Dr Kuvshinov, Dr Murphy spoke of the continually growing importance of ICDO: “With the increasing need to better prepare the world for the challenging disasters most surely ahead of us in the 21st century” President Murphy said, “the role of ICDO is vital and the essential and valued contribution of Dr. Kuvshinov and his staff are ever-better understood, appreciated and admired”.
Dr. Murphy warmly welcomed the ICDO delegation and pledged the close cooperation in the future of GSD and the ICDO.
