GSD runs for UNICEF by Viktoriia Savitska

Participating in a marathon has been on my to-do list for a long time! Doing it alone isn’t as much as fun as gathering a team to run together. And that is what we did when we participated in the Harmony Geneva Marathon for UNICEF. No matter how many times a week you go to the gym or run along the lake, you can always find a race that suits your performance. The GSD girl’s running team decided to go for, “La Genevoise,” an all women’s race. We enjoyed and benefited from this course, as we were running for a good cause. All funds raised from the marathon go towards the construction of water pumps in drought-ridden parts of the world. Our team of 10 sporty and super brave (it was raining the whole day) girls did it! Every kilometer brought us closer to the finishing line…Somewhere in the world hundreds of children are closer to drinking water. That was our greatest motivation. We didn’t worry about the weather as we had great fun doing something healthy and meaningful. It was an unforgettable experience and we all want to run again next year. Special congratulations to Daniela Ciobanu who came in first in the challenge dedicated to universities. Viktoriia Savitska BA student Student Body President
