GSD Fun(draising) Event

GSD Fun(draising) Event

Humanitarian Action As GSD believes it is very important to not only teach & learn through books, but also through support and actual real-life experience, we have created the GSD Humanitarian Initiative Project (HIP). This initiative can be split into two channels: Academic & Humanitarian Action. Currently GSD supports the ‘Community Water Supply Program’ of the Zanzibar Outreach Program (ZOP). Fundraising for our humanitarian action causes will be raised through individual contributions, student initiatives and events. We are proud to announce that on Thursday 30 November 2017, GSD and the GSD representatives have successfully organised the very first FUN(draising) event: GSD’s GOT Talent.Together we have raised the incredible amount of EURO 2.000,- which is donated to ZOP on Thursday 7 December 2017. They have shared with us with the following message: ”ZOP extends its sincere gratitude to GSD. Our work at ZOP is possible through efforts and support such as yours. We recognise and appreciate all the effort you have done to support us and extend our heartfelt thanks!”GSD founder and president, Dr. Colum Murphy, adds the following: ”ZOP is famously transparent and our students will be receiving regular reports on how each penny of what was (and will be) raised at GSD is actually spent. We are also looking at other ways on how GSD can positively contribute to the Zanzibar Outreach Program (ZOP).  For now though, bravo to all of you that made a fundraising success of “GSD’s Got Talent”. Well done each and every one of you:  the work you put into our event will now be doing real good for real people. Just bringing water to a village enormously changes the lives of villagers  –  as you can imagine, and absolutely for the better.” Show & Support During the night, GSD students and faculty members shared with us their singing, dancing, piano, poetry reading, and theatre skills. The winning act of the night was performed by GSD faculty member, Dr. Alexandre Lambert with his self-composed piano play called: ‘A Piece for Peace’. The prize for the winning act was a voucher for 5 persons (worth of CHF 150,-) offered to us by ”The MindEscape GenevaPremium Real Life Escape Game in Geneva. The largest escape room facilities in Switzerland, with themes created by top designers around the world.” Thank you for your support!
