Dr. Maria Sokolova

Dr. Sokolova is an international trade specialist with expertise in the monetary dimensions of trade integration, trade and conflict, regionalism, and gender. She is currently based in Geneva, where she works at the International Trade Centre. Her professional background spans international organisations, academia, and the private sector. Her empirical research has appeared in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Sokolova, holds a PhD in International Economics and Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, an MSc from the University of St Andrews, and a BSc from the Russian Economic Academy. She is a committed advocate for women’s representation and empowerment in the field of economics.
