Prof. Dr. Alexandre Lambert
Prof. Dr. Alexandre Lambert is the Academic Director and founding member of the Geneva Institute of Geopolitical Studies (GIGS). He is also the Academic Director of the School for International Training (SITStudy Abroad) and its Switzerland-based Global Health and Development Policy program. Besides GSD, he teaches international relations with a focus on international security at Webster University, Geneva. Formerly, he was serving at the security policy division of the Swiss Federal Department of Defence and is a founding fellow of the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF). He holds a PhD from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, where he was also the lead researcher on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Dr. Lambert has published in the fields of international security, civil-military relations, geopolitics, and emerging geo-strategic issues such as the rise of China and the Belt- and Road Initiative (BRI).
