Dr. John Hancock is a senior policy expert at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, where he has served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Director-General, Representative to the IMF and World Bank, and Head of Policy Development. He spearheaded the launch of the WTO’s Aid-for-Trade Initiative and led major Joint Initiatives on investment facilitation and other emerging global trade issues. Prior to joining the WTO, he served as Senior Advisor to Canada’s Minister of International Trade. Dr. Hancock holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and is a widely published commentator and speaker on international trade, global governance, and multilateral cooperation.
