The Geneva School of Diplomacy, in partnership with the Geneva Center for Neutrality, hosted a high-level panel discussion exploring the strategic relevance of Swiss neutrality in an increasingly complex international system.
Neutrality remains one of Switzerland’s most internationally recognised diplomatic principles, yet its interpretation and strategic relevance continue to evolve in response to shifting geopolitical realities.
As part of the Geneva School of Diplomacy’s Emerging Issues & Persistent Challenges series, the Geneva School of Diplomacy, in partnership with the Geneva Center for Neutrality, convened a distinguished panel of experts to examine the strategic benefits of Swiss neutrality in today’s international system.
The discussion explored neutrality through legal, political, diplomatic, and strategic lenses, addressing its role in conflict mediation, international dialogue, Swiss foreign policy positioning, and Switzerland’s ability to act as a credible and trusted global actor.
Bringing together experienced diplomats, policy leaders, and international affairs experts, the event provided students, faculty, and attendees with valuable perspectives on one of Switzerland’s most enduring and internationally significant strategic concepts.
