Flavours of GSD: Food and Culture

Current GSD students and faculty are invited to Flavours of GSD: Food and Culture, a shared international lunch celebrating the countries, cultures and traditions represented across our community.

Held in recognition of World Food Day and United Nations Day, the event will bring the GSD community together through food, conversation and cultural exchange.

Bring a Taste of Your Culture

Students and faculty are encouraged to bring a dish, snack or dessert connected to their country, culture or family traditions.

Participants will have the opportunity to introduce their contribution and share the story or tradition behind it. GSD will also provide food, snacks, soft drinks and water.

Attendees are still welcome to participate if they are unable to bring food.

Food, Culture and the United Nations

The event will open with a short address from Dean Dr Athar Sultan-Khan on the United Nations and its relevance to GSD students.

The programme will continue with the shared international lunch, cultural exchange and informal networking.

National or traditional dress is warmly encouraged but not required.

Vote for Your Favourite Dish

Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite contribution, with a small prize awarded to the winning dish.

Anyone bringing food should label their contribution with:

  • The name of the dish
  • Its country or cultural connection
  • Any relevant allergens

Important Notice

This is an internal GSD event exclusively for current students and faculty. It is not open to alumni or the general public.
