Geneva School of Diplomacy Partners with Geneva Center for Neutrality for High-Level Dialogue on Swiss Neutrality

The Geneva School of Diplomacy, in partnership with the Geneva Center for Neutrality, convened a distinguished panel of diplomats, policy leaders, and international affairs experts to explore the strategic role of Swiss neutrality in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.

The Geneva School of Diplomacy partnered with the Geneva Center for Neutrality to host a high-level dialogue examining the strategic relevance of Swiss neutrality in today’s international system.

As geopolitical tensions continue to reshape global diplomacy and international security, the discussion provided an opportunity to examine neutrality through legal, diplomatic, political, and strategic perspectives, with particular focus on Switzerland’s unique international role.

Hosted at the Geneva School of Diplomacy as part of its ongoing engagement with contemporary global policy discussions, the event brought together senior diplomatic and policy voices to reflect on the evolving meaning and practical implications of neutrality in modern international affairs.

The panel featured Tobias Privitelli, Director of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD); Jean-Daniel Ruch, former Swiss Ambassador to Turkey, Israel, and Serbia; Claude Béglé, Swiss business executive and public affairs leader; and Nicholas C. Niggli, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Oⁿ Venture Studio and former Swiss diplomat.

Opening remarks were delivered by Nicolas Ramseier, President of the Geneva Center for Neutrality.

This collaboration reflects the Geneva School of Diplomacy’s commitment to convening high-level international dialogue and fostering partnerships that contribute meaningfully to contemporary policy and diplomatic discourse.
