Biography

Dr. Jana Konstantinova is a lecturer in international development and a senior scientist specialising in cities as complex systems, alternative development models, sustainable finance, and practical governance solutions through Public-Private-Civil Society Partnerships (PPCPs).

She obtained her Ph.D. from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2021. Her doctoral research analysed Yugoslavia as a laboratory for experimental, non-commodified ways of living and “third way” development approaches beyond conventional political and economic models.

Dr. Konstantinova’s interdisciplinary work combines sociology, political theory, urban studies, and sustainable development, with a strong focus on governance innovation and socially sustainable policy frameworks.

She has professional experience working within International Geneva and has collaborated with governments, multilateral development banks, and international development agencies on projects related to sustainability, governance, and development policy.

Through her academic and professional activities, Dr. Konstantinova contributes to research and policy discussions concerning urban transformation, sustainable governance, and alternative development pathways.
