Biography

Dr. Alexandre Lambert is the Academic Director and founding member of the Geneva Institute of Geopolitical Studies (GIGS). He is also the Academic Director of the School for International Training (SIT Study Abroad) and its Switzerland-based Global Health and Development Policy programme.

In addition to his role at GSD, he teaches international relations with a focus on international security at Webster University Geneva. Previously, he served within the Security Policy Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Defence and is a founding fellow of the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF).

Dr. Lambert holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, where he was also the lead researcher on the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

His academic and policy work focuses on international security, civil-military relations, geopolitics, and emerging geo-strategic developments, including the rise of China and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). He has published extensively in these fields and contributed to numerous international academic and policy conferences.
