Biography
Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger is a former German diplomat and internationally recognised expert in diplomacy, security policy, and international relations. He previously served as Chair of the Munich Security Conference, one of the world’s leading forums on international security and geopolitical affairs.
Over the course of his diplomatic career, Ambassador Ischinger held senior positions within the German Foreign Service, including serving as Ambassador of Germany to the United States and the United Kingdom. He has played an active role in international negotiations, transatlantic relations, and global security dialogue.
His expertise spans diplomacy, international security, geopolitical affairs, and multilateral engagement. As a member of the Advisory Council of the Geneva School of Diplomacy, Ambassador Ischinger contributes senior diplomatic and strategic insight in support of the School’s academic and institutional development.
