The Geopolitics of Oil and Gas: The Future of Energy Markets

As part of the Fall Semester 2026 Emerging Issues and Persistent Challenges seminar series, the Geneva School of Diplomacy is pleased to welcome Ms Claire-Édith Lopoh for a discussion on the geopolitics of oil and gas and the future of global energy markets.

Against a backdrop of geopolitical tensions, market volatility and the accelerating energy transition, this session will examine the strategic importance of oil and gas and the forces transforming global energy production, trade and security.

Drawing on more than two decades of experience in crude oil and petroleum-products trading, Ms Lopoh will offer practical insights into the changing energy landscape and its implications for producing countries, importing economies and international relations.
