GSD did not simply refine my understanding of diplomacy; it reinforced my conviction that diplomacy is one of the most powerful instruments for meaningful socioeconomic development. That conviction now shapes both my professional mission and my long-term aspiration to contribute to global policy and development.
Biography
Dr. Thamer Baazeem is the Secretary General and CEO of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, where he leads initiatives that advance the socioeconomic development of the Holy Capital through public-private collaboration, investment, innovation, and international partnerships.
He previously held executive leadership positions at the Saudi Halal Center, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the Islamic Development Bank Group. He also served as Chairman of the Saudi Marketing Association. Before that, he had a long academic experience with King Abdulaziz University and private sector experience in marketing.
Dr. Baazeem is passionate about the intersection of diplomacy and socioeconomic development. His current work focuses on developing frameworks that place meaning, human behavior, and international collaboration at the center of sustainable development. He aspires to contribute to global thought leadership on diplomacy-driven socioeconomic transformation.
