As part of the Geneva School of Diplomacy’s Emerging Issues & Persistent Challenges series, the Geneva School of Diplomacy hosted Pierre Bayenet for a timely discussion exploring the role of Geneva’s prosecutorial system, the responsibilities of public justice institutions, and the broader challenges shaping the future of legal governance.
Drawing on his professional experience within Geneva’s legal and prosecutorial landscape, Mr Bayenet examined the institutional responsibilities of the public prosecutor’s office, the opportunities for reform and innovation within the justice system, and the growing pressures facing legal governance in a rapidly changing environment.
The session provided students, faculty, and attendees with valuable insight into the practical realities of public legal administration, accountability, and the evolving relationship between justice institutions and society.
