GENERAL GUIDELINES ON HEALTH AND SAFETY
The safety and welfare of the GSD family are of prime importance to the management, and we are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Switzerland. GSD continues to implement a comprehensive and evolving response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
SAFETY MEASURES
General:
Strict social distancing will be followed. The cantonal requirement of 1.5 meters will have to be followed by everyone within the campus. In situations where the 1.5 meters cannot be maintained on campus, masks are mandatory.
Masks are required in all indoor common areas; in both de Sales building and in the Chateau. We suggest that everyone uses masks, even in public spaces, if 1.5 meters of social distancing cannot be followed. Masks are required in Switzerland on all public transportation.

Common areas in both the de Sales and the Chateau buildings will be cleaned regularly with alcohol-based products.
We encourage everyone to use the disinfectant available in both common areas as well as in the classrooms regularly. We recommend everyone to clean your hands with disinfectant before entering any building or room and doing the same when leaving as well.
Upon Arrival:
Students who need to carry out a quarantine period upon arrival from countries at risk, or during their studies must follow classes online. They cannot come to the campus or go anywhere out of their room during the quarantine period.
Campus Services:
It is mandatory for every student to contact the concerned department for an appointment if they wish to have a meeting. We suggest that students and faculty keep face to face meetings for extraordinary cases only. You may request for a virtual meeting if you wish.
Rules and Recommendations from Swiss authorities:
The Swiss government has been pro-active and diligent in imposing stringent and sensible measures to tackle COVID-19. This is why Switzerland has been rated as the safest country in the world.
Please follow the rules below and restrictions that the Swiss authorities have proposed.
Classroom Size and Seating:
In accordance with Swiss rules, GSD has reduced the class size to a maximum of 10 students, in order to maintain the 1.5-meter social distancing. We will be undergoing frequent and consistent testing, as the rules change, to find the best possible seating arrangements.
Professors may choose to take off her/his mask for video enunciation/clarity purposes upon confirming that they are safely located at a social distance, of minimum 1.5 meters, from the students present in the classroom.
Symptoms and Signs of COVID-19:
In case any student, staff or faculty develops signs of COVID-19, they are requested to immediately begin self-quarantining. We also ask the symptomatic person to immediately get in touch with their respective doctors. We also ask the symptomatic person to immediately inform GSD of their status, so that necessary arrangements could be made to ensure the safety and comfort of other members of the GSD family.
Individual responsibility:
The fight against COVID-19 will never be successful without each one of taking individual responsibility. Please follow all safety measures necessary to keep yourself safe. By following the necessary rules, regulations and recommendations you will keep yourself safe and others safe.
