Biography
Charles “Charlie” Sell is a graduate of the Master of International Relations programme at the Geneva School of Diplomacy, where he studied as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. His professional background focuses on humanitarian affairs, internal displacement, post-conflict recovery, and international migration governance.
He currently serves within IOM – UN Migration as an IDP Officer supporting the Secretary-General’s Action Agenda on Internal Displacement. His work focuses on policy support, durable solutions programming, humanitarian recovery coordination, and multilateral engagement related to displacement-affected communities.
Over the course of his career, he has held operational and programme management roles across a range of complex humanitarian contexts including Iraq, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. His experience spans emergency response coordination, stabilization programming, donor relations, recovery initiatives, and international policy engagement within multilateral environments.
His professional interests include humanitarian coordination, displacement solutions, recovery policy, and international cooperation in crisis and post-conflict settings.
